Want to be interviewed by SmackTalk?

As a community site, getting to know you guys is something we take great pride in. SmackTalk allows for interested parties to write and submit their own interviews, following one of the provided forms. If you would like to be interviewed, all you need to do is answer the questions provide and send them to us at smacktalkstaff@gmail.com . To make absolutely sure our editors see it, please put the word interview in the subject.

Also, be sure to specify your Smack Jeeves username and your comic's name or url.

Heres how it works:

  1. Choose your interview form. Depending on your area of specialty, our questions are custom-tailored to be as on-topic as possible. The three forms provided are:
    1. The Artist/General Interview form.
    2. The Writer form.
    3. The Spriter form.
  2. Fill out the questions. Follow these tips to ensure you have the best chance of getting a response.
    1. Take your time and be thorough. The more info you can give us, the more likely it is that we'll respond. We can always shorten your answers if we need to, but we're unable to add words in.
    2. Use full sentences and paragraphs in your writing. Try to write as you would talk. Be conversational and thorough. If it helps, imagine some nerdy guy is sitting there hanging on your every word.
    3. Use links where appropriate. When you mention a site, please provide its url. Not only does it help when we're putting the interview together for publication, it may give the interviewer another question to ask you back.
    4. Be polite, friendly, and nice. We will be to you, so you should be to us. Dig?
  3. Submit your interview to us, as indicated above.

If We like your answers, your interview will be assigned to one of our interviewers, who will then respond with more specific questions. You respond to those, and send it back, and we'll edit it into a nice concise interview. Simple!

What We will do:

  1. We will clean up your grammar, and make you seem smart.
  2. We will edit the content to make it flow smoothly and read quickly.
  3. We will send you the completed interview for your perusal before We post it.
  4. We will make it seem like a real interview.

What We will not do:

  1. Accept every interview that comes, regardless of quality. If you want your interview to be posted, you need to put some thought and effort into the initial questions. Short answers, rude behavior, and a generally disrespectful attitude will pretty much disqualify you from ever seeing your interview get out.
  2. Accept multiple interviews from one person. Like the SJ-forum, you should only submit one interview per month. After you are accepted for an interview, you should not submit another one. Special circumstances may ask us to do a second interview, but that will be the sole decision of the editors of SmackTalk.
  3. Change your answers, edit their meaning. I will do the job as an editor, which means that, on occasion, I will need to move a sentence from one paragraph to another, and things like that. However, I will not ever re-interpret your answers, or edit them to make them funnier, or something like that.
  4. Post the finalized interview without your consent.
